The goal of a deke on a goalie is to simply get him/her to move one way so that you can move the other way and have an opening to put the puck in.

1

Come down on a goalie on an angle.

2

As you get to about the outside of the face-off circle:
1) Start to stride forward with your left skate.
2) Bring the puck to your side.

3

Make the goalie believe you are going to come across his/her front by:
1) taking a full stride forward with your left leg.
2) bringing the puck a little bit across your body but not too much.

4

At the end of your forward stride, place your weight on the ball of your left skate and curl hard on it to the right side. Notice that the goalie has already started moving to the left.

5

Now that the goalie has committed him/herself to moving to the left, move to the far right by continuing to curl on your left skate and placing the puck on your backhand.

6

Skate as far as you need to the right side until you find an opening to score. Although the goalie is out of the play, move quickly before he/she gets over to the right with his/her pad(s) and takes away some of the open net from you.

7

With the puck back on your forehand, find your opening and put the puck there (on or off the ice).
