The job of the other team's forward
in front of your net is to position
him/herself so that your goalie cannot
see the shot coming. It is your job
to move the forward and create a clear
path without getting a penalty so
that your goalie can see the shot
coming and stop it.

Come up from behind the man who is
in front of the net.
Have 2 hands on your stick and carry
it at a level that is between your
hips and knees. Your hands should
be a little farther apart than the
width of the forward's body.

AWith the shaft of your stick, place
it under the forward's butt and lift
up a little. You don't need a lot
of power here. This will be enough
to take the forward's weight off of
his/her skate blades (solid position)
and onto his/her toes (weak position).

|
Now that the forward is in an unbalanced
position, use your skates (not your
arms) to move him/her forward and
out of the goalie's way. You don't
need a lot of power here, so make
sure you don't knock him/her over
and get a penalty.
